How to Whitelist us
“Whitelisting” means telling your email service provider that our emails are okay, and you want to receive them.
It’s easy to do. Here’s how …
Gmail
(updated May 2022)
Environmental Change-Makers emails are sent from this email address:
To make sure our email gets delivered to your Inbox, please complete these steps:
- go to Gmail in your web browser. The following instructions are for the desktop version; things might be a bit different if you are working from your phone.
- in the “search mail” box, type our email address.
- ☑ select a message from our email address.
- in the menu above the list of emails, click the ⁝ three-dot menu symbol to access additional menu options.
- ☑ select “filter messages like these” which will give you a dialog box.
- be sure the “From” field displays our email address. Leave the other fields blank.
- At the bottom of the dialog box, click “Create filter” which gives you a new dialog box.
- ☑ select “Never send it to Spam”
- click the “create filter” button
- you did it!
If you don’t like your emails hidden in a Promotions folder, here’s how to turn that feature off:
- go to Gmail in your web browser. The following instructions are for the desktop version; things might be a bit different if you are working from your phone.
- select the ⚙︎ gear symbol to access your Settings
- click the “see all settings” button
- once you’re in “Settings”, in the top line menu, select “Inbox”
- under the heading “Categories”
- uncheck the categories you don’t want. for example, uncheck ☐ “Promotions”
- also (if it doesn’t disappear automatically) uncheck ☐ “Enable bundling of top promotional emails in Promotions”
- then scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click the “Save changes” button
Yahoo! Mail

To make sure our email gets delivered to your Inbox, please complete these two steps:
1. Check your Spam Folder. If you see an email from our email address, then …
- Please open the email.
- Next click the “Not Spam” button on the top toolbar.
2. Create a filter to automatically send email from our email address to your Inbox.
- Move your mouse over or tap the Gear icon in the top right navigation bar.
- Select “Settings” from the list that drops down.
- Choose “Filters” located on the left side of the page.
- Click the “Add” button on the Filters page.
- Create a name such as “Whitelist” in the Filter name field.
- In the “From” field leave the default contains selected.
- Enter our email address in the text box next to “Contains”
- Choose the destination folder to which you would like the message delivered. For example: Inbox.
- Click or tap “Save”
- You will see in the next screen -Deliver to Inbox if From contains [our email address]
- Click or tap “Save” on this screen.
- You will be returned to your Yahoo! Inbox.
AOL Webmail
To make sure our email gets delivered to your AOL Inbox, please complete these two steps:
1. If you find an email from Joanne Poyourow in your spam folder …
- Right click the email.
- Click “Not spam” in the resulting list.
2. Add JoanneP@change-making.com to your Address Book:
- Open the email from Joanne Poyourow
- Click the show details link next to Joanne Poyourow in the “From” field.
- Move your mouse over or tap joannep@change-making.com to show the menu.
- Click or tap “Add contact” in the menu displayed.
- Add Joanne Poyourow to the name fields
- Click “Add contact”
- Email from us will now be delivered straight to your Inbox.
