Come Bake at the wood-fired Westchester Community Oven

Enjoy the fun of preparing and baking bread in a hand-made, earthen, wood-fired oven.

Meet veteran bakers and newcomers, and share ideas and tasty results. We’ve seen some remarkable breads (whole-grain sourdough, drunken raisin, habanero & cheese, sourdough rye, seeds & sprouts), all baked in a fifteen thousand year old tradition.

If you need help, experienced bread bakers will be on hand. People have gathered around such ovens for thousands of years, and reactions are still enthusiastic. Everyone in the family can take part.
